Home

Everyone, rich or poor, has a certain corner of their home that they are neglecting. Things are piling up or becoming mixed up. The Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) mentioned djinn, or unseen beings, being in uncleaned areas like bathrooms. A modern day interpretation could be bacteria.

There is something about certain tasks that we resent or avoid confronting, that represent areas of our lives that we don’t want to look at. People with ADHD really have a problem with letting things pile up because we forget about an object’s meaning as soon as it leaves our hands. Other people just allow one thing in their life to accumulate all their unresolved issues, for example the inside of the microwave. Every piece of trash represents a used moment in our life.

Our intuition really already knows how to handle the situation if we meditate upon it.

“What area of my home or life is the most in need of attention at this minute?” is the perfect question for someone trying to limit overload. Usually it’s just one corner, one shelf.

As long as we just do a little bit each day, with intention, the chaos will remain contained.

According to Verse 10:87 in Surat Yunus, the entire purpose of God giving you a home is not just for you to impose order on your own space alone, but to create a safe place where people can gather and discuss truth freely, creating a mutual understanding of truth within.

“And We inspired Moses and his brother, (saying): Appoint houses for your people in Egypt and make your houses oratories, and establish worship. And give good news to the believers.”

It is important that we organize our homes for survival, and so we nest intentionally to thrive inside of a community bolstered by friendship, trust, and planning our next actions together.
